Nowa Sól Project

The Nowa Sól deposit is an exceptional exploration success by Lumina Metals, achieved thanks to the support of Polish geologists and the result of one of the largest mineral exploration programs carried out in post-war Poland. It also represents a unique opportunity to develop modern mining in the western regions of the country.
Lumina began exploration in the Nowa Sól region in 2011 after receiving its first concession. Since then, the company has completed an extensive program that included 24 new drill holes totaling nearly 47,000 meters, detailed geodetic surveys, surface geophysics, gas sampling, hydrogeological assessments, and lab analysis and a re-evaluation of archival drilling data.
These efforts led to a world-class greenfield discovery of a major copper-silver deposit within the copper-bearing shale of the Fore-Sudetic Monocline.
Documented mineral resource in C1 resource category (Poland’s geological resource category, similar to measured and indicated):
- 815 Mt of ore
- 10.1 Mt of copper contained
- 1 Boz of silver contained
- Resource area approx. 120 km²
The deposit also contains lead, rhenium, cobalt, vanadium, and rare earth elements.
The Nowa Sól deposit is one of the world’s largest new copper-silver discoveries and currently accounts for nearly 20% of Poland’s total documented resources of these metals.
